Turkey introduced the electronic visa system in 2013, offering the intuitive and fast online visa application to travelers from many countries around the world. Going through all the steps of the Turkey e-Visa application requires having a working electronic device, stable Internet connection, valid means of online payment, and an active email address. All applicants will also need to hold a passport valid for at least 6 months from the planned arrival date in Turkey. Moreover, some nationalities may need to provide some additional documents.
Application for a Turkey visa online should not take more than a couple of minutes, while an applicant even does not need to leave their homes. The entire process is to be completed online.
The approval of the Turkey e-Visa is sent to the applicant's email address provided in the online form. The physical copy of the approved e-Visa should be printed out and shown to border officials upon entering Turkey.
Travelers should remember to apply for a Turkish e-Visa at least 3 business days in advance of planned trip to receive the visa approval on time.
How to apply for a Turkey visa online
Gather all the documents according to your nationality and go to the application form. Indicate your travel purpose, and then follow these intuitive steps:
- Fill out the online form: enter the required information, including standard personal data, passport details, and travel information. Check twice whether all the details are correctly entered and only then proceed with the next step.
- Attach the necessary documents: Attach the necessary documents.
- Make the online payment: use your debit/credit card, PayPal, or any other means of online payment and pay the service fee.
After applying
Once the payment is processed, an applicant will receive the confirmation number via email. Our visa team will revise every application for the correctness and check whether all supporting documents have been attached.
The approved electronic visa will be delivered to the email inbox of the applicant. It is extremely important to provide the correct email address to receive the Turkish e-Visa in a PDF without any issues.
Who can apply for e-Visa
Since there are two types of Turkish electronic visas, the permitted stay duration in Turkey differs and may be either 30 days for a single-entry visa or 90 days for a multiple-entry visa. Nevertheless, both visas remain valid for the same period, which is 90 days. The validity period starts to be counted from the day when the visa is approved.
Single-entry Turkey e-Visa
The following nationalities are eligible for a single-entry e-Visa, which enables staying in Turkey for up to 30 days (or 90 days for Maldives nationals) within the 180-day validity period.

Holder of a multiple-entry e-Visa can stay in Turkey for up to 3 months while its validity is 6 months.
*South African and Armenian nationals may stay in Turkey for 30 days within the single-entry Turkish e-Visa validity period.

Single-entry e-Visa
Depending on the nationality, travelers eligible for a single-entry e-Visa for Turkey may need to upload some additional documents, including:
- a valid visa/residence permit
- return ticket
- hotel reservation

Multiple-entry e-Visa
Nationals of the countries eligible for a multiple-entry e-Visa simply need to have a valid passport to complete the online application, except for citizens marked by '**' (Taiwanese and Chinese nationals) who apart from a valid passport, also need to provide the following documents:
- a return ticket and hotel booking proof
- min. of US $50 (or the foreign currency equivalent) for every day of their planned stay in Turkey
- a round-trip ticket with AtlasGlobal, Onur Air, Pegasus Airline, or Turkish Airlines
Processing time of Turkey e-Visa
The real processing time is at the total discretion of the Turkish Government, which is a deciding body granting a visa approval. Nevertheless, every traveler should remember to apply for a visa for Turkey at least 3 business days in advance since it is the standard processing time for Turkey visa applications.
